It’s the end of August. In retrospect it was a very sensible decision to spend my summer interning at UNEP.
In this last phase I continued working on the Regional Laboratory Capacity Database. I also created a database showing the Inter-governmental, Technical/Expert and Other Major Meetings convened by UNEP CAR-RCU, RACs and the GEF projects from 2010 to 2011. In addition to that I update the Focal Points Information and the Status of the Cartagena Convention and its Protocols. A French version of the document was also created. I think that using Google translate was the beginning of my learning a second language. I’m looking forward to that.
Challenges faced: trying to function at average capacity while there was no air conditioning in the building.
Lessons learnt: really it’s a reaffirmation of what I’ve already learn – I need to lean a second language.
Through this internship I was reinitiated into the world of work and developed and honed several skills. Looking forward to the future. UNEP, thanks for making this possible.
