It has now been almost a month into my internship. I can barely believe how quickly time is going by. So far, it has been a good experience and I have been quite happy that my work here has been largely relevant to my academic background.

I have been keeping busy doing a variety of tasks such as researching and reviewing international mangrove reports, searching for resources in the library, and organizing a large volume of SPAW-related documents. Overall, I have found these tasks to be more interesting than they may sound, and have found myself learning quite a bit about the SPAW programme and UNEP in general. During the process, I have also been getting a better grasp on the various environmental issues that face the WCR, as well as information on various policies that exist in the region. Of course, this is still a work in progress, and there is still so much that I can learn from. I really hope that my life as an intern will continue to be a fun and fulfilling journey.

Challenges faced
The main challenge I have right now is balancing this internship with school, which can be pretty difficult at times.

Lessons learnt
I have leant the importance of managing my time wisely and always asking questions when necessary.
