30th Scientific Meeting of the Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean - AMLC 24 - 29 July, 2001, La Parguera, Puerto Rico The Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean (AMLC) are holding the 30th Scientific Meeting of the Association, hosted by the Department of Marine Sciences of the University of Puerto Rico in June 24 - 29, 2001. There are eight themes proposed for the meeting, reflecting the current regional problems and priorities in marine research and management development. Deadlines for early registration and abstract submission is March 1, 2001. This conference is the fourth in the series of SATIS aimed to provide a forum for dissemination of information on the use and development of renewable energy technologies and systems in tropical islands, particularly in the Caribbean. First Annual Caribbean GIS Conference 9 - 12 September, 2001, Montego Bay, Jamaica The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is hosting the conference, which will feature work shops, a comprehensive educational program and an exhibition. The educational program will be developed from submissions received through the Call for Presentations. Submissions of an abstract for possible presentation at the conference are encouraged.
