 Objective:

• To provide baseline information of all point and non-point source discharges into or impacting the Convention area

• To confirm or reconfirm priority sources and pollutants in the Wider Caribbean including heavily contaminated bays

Expected Outputs:

• Assessment of methodology for point source inventory;

• Development of a non-point source methodology;

• Data collection and expert review;

• Development of database and report;

• Hosting of regional experts workshop; and

• Draft report on update of Technical Report 33.

Status

• Collection of information regarding methodologies for the determination of non-point sources of pollutants;

• Sub-regional Workshop held in Venezuela in March 2005 coordinated by CIMAB

• Additional resources will be required to collect national data to complete update of report;

• Methodology being revised to be followed by commencement of data collection; and

• Progress Report to be submitted to Third ISTAC meeting in August 2005.
