Period: Ongoing; Full Project Implementation; Revised Timeline 2005 – 2009 (PDF B Phase completed)

 Partners: GEF, Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Crop Life

 Objective(s):

To protect the Caribbean marine environment by reducing the use of, and reliance on, pesticides in agricultural activities through the development of national plans.

 

Expected Outputs:

  • Preparation of national reports to form basis for the national action programmes (NAPs);
  • Preparation of a regional report for regional co-operation;
  • Strengthened institutional, legal and policy infrastructure; and
  • This project will assist in the implementation of Annex IV to the LBS Protocol.

 

Status:

  • Project approved by GEF;
  • Position for new Project Manager filled late October 2006;
  • First Project Steering Committee Meeting held in Panama City, 12th and 13th of April 2007
