The Marine Litter Project
The objective of this project is to assist in the environmental protection and sustainable development of the Wider Caribbean region through the development of a “Regional Action Plan on the Sustainable Management of Marine Litter in the Wider Caribbean” (RAPMaLi).
Activities carried out within the development of theRAPMaLi will be based on a two-levels approach:
- Regional activities (including the development of the Regional Action Plan)
- Pilot project in "typical" countries

- Marine Litter in the Wider Caribbean: A Regional Overview & Action Plan
- Proposal for UNEP-CAR/RCU to facilitate the development of national marine litter monitoring programme in the Region
The 2006 International Coastal Clean-up Activity, a component of the Marine Litter Project, was carried out September 2006.
