UNEP CAR/RCU signs Memorandum of Cooperation with OECS
At the recently concluded Meeting of Ministers
of Environment the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) held in
Anguilla on November 16th, 2005, Mr. Christopher Corbin, Programme
Officer responsible for the Assessment and Management of Environment Pollution
(AMEP) of UNEP CAR/RCU and Dr. Vasantha Chase, Director of the Sustainable
Development of OECS signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on behalf of their
respective agencies. Through this
MOC, CAR/RCU and the Secretariat of the OECS agree to co-ordinate and harmonise
activities in pursuit of complementary interests and goals of the member
countries of the OECS and the Parties to the Cartagena Convention, in order to
improve implementation of and minimize duplication of programmes, projects and
activities relevant to both organizations at the national, sub-regional and
regional levels.
