Regional Promotional Workshop on the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-Based Sources and Activities (LBS Protocol) for English Speaking Caribbean Countries.
The Regional Activity Centre for the LBS Protocol located at the Institute of Marine Affairs
(RAC IMA) in collaboration with the Caribbean Environment Programme (CEP) Secretariat and
with support from the Government of Saint Lucia, will be convening a Regional Promotional
Workshop on the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-Based Sources and Activities (LBS
Protocol) for English Speaking Caribbean Countries.
The proposed objectives of this Workshop are to:
· Assist countries to identify and develop the legislative, technical and regulatory requirements to ratify and implement the LBS Protocol;
· Identify existing constraints to the ratification and implementation of the LBS protocol and recommend measures to overcome these;
· Identify mechanisms to increase awareness of the LBS Protocol at the national and regional levels, and particularly on the benefits from ratification;
· Facilitate exchange of information and experiences among the participants concerning the implementation of the LBS protocol.
