Environmental and Public Health Considerations

The purpose of this workshop is to provide training to Environmental Health Officers  on Sewage and Sludge Management. It forms part of an on-going collaboration between UNEP-CAR/RCU and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in response to a decision of the 10th  Intergovernmental Meeting of the CEP. This activity will show to the participants who hail from Guyana and Suriname, the linkages between the LBS Protocol and Wastewater management. Both Guyana and Suriname, though members of the CEP, have not ratified the Cartagena Convention or its Protocols. Technical support for the workshop is being provided by the Assessment and Management of Environmental Pollution (AMEP) programme of the CEP and the Regional Activity Centre in Cuba (Cimab).
