The objective of this meeting is to develop a Regional Used oil Management Strategy for the Caribbean Region. This meeting forms part of activities under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Secretariat to the Basel Convention and UNEP-CAR/RCU which was signed in 2004. UNEP-CAR/RCU remains committed in assisting further development and implementation of a regional Used Oil Management Strategy for the Caribbean Region. Support is also being received from UNEP-GPA. Participants to the meeting will include representatives of Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) who are signatories to the Basel Convention. Representing UNEP-CAR/RCU at this meeting will be the officer with responsibilities for the Assessment and Management of Environmental Pollution (AMEP) programme, Mr Christopher Corbin. he will be presenting onthe linkages between Used Oil Management, the Oil Spills and the LBS Protocols.
