UNEPLive is an official “One-Stop”, platform that presents an innovative way of harnessing today's new world of environmental knowledge assets  and real-time analytics in an easily understandable way. Together, the up-to-date dynamic assessments, compelling environmental articles, maps, very latest data, indicators, and emerging environmental issues  will provide for occasional and regular users worldwide a better understanding of changes and trends in the global environment.  The “proof of concept” platform at http://www.uneplive.org provides users with  access to environmental information assets held by UNEP and its partners worldwide. UNEPLive draws from the overarching mandate of UNEP of “keeping the world environmental situation under review and to bring significant environmental issues to the attention of Governments”. In support of the delivery of this mandate, discussions have been underway for some time on strengthening the scientific basis of UNEP’s work with the GC/GMEF providing specific direction and guidance for UNEP. In particular, Decision 26/2  of February 2011 requested the development and maintenance of  “…. a web-based platform to present information on the status of the international environmental assessment landscape”.
