Second GLOC Conference,Montego Bay, Jamaica, Oct 2- 4, 2013
The Second Global Conference on Land-Ocean Connections (GLOC-2) will take place October 2-4, 2013, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The United Nations Environment Programme, through the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-Based Activities (GPA) and the Government of Jamaica are co-organizers of the conference, the second of its kind, and the first to be convened in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Using sound science as a foundation, the Second Global Conference on Land-Ocean Connections is designed to reach beyond the “typical conference.” Participants should expect innovative sessions and workshops, and every opportunity to share and learn from the experiences and expertise of others. With a variety of themes, this conference will strengthen existing and build new global partnerships, further raise public awareness and support, and inspire follow-up actions that will advance the global agenda as we seek to address the negative impacts of and seize the opportunities presented by marine litter, wastewater and nutrients.
The GLOC-2 will also serve as Partnership Forum for the Global Partnership on Nutrient Management, the Global Partnership on Marine Litter and the Global Wastewater Initiative.
