At the invitation of the Secretariat of the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment of the Wider Caribbean Region (Cartagena Convention), the First Meeting of the Scientific, Technical and Advisory Committee (STAC) to the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-based Sources and Activities in the Wider Caribbean Region (LBS Protocol) is proposed to be held from 5th – 7th June, 2012 in Oranjestad, Aruba. This is the first technical meeting of national experts following the entry into force of the LBS Protocol in August 2010.

Por la invitación del la Secretaría al Convenio para la Protección y el Desarrollo del Medio Marino de la Región del Gran Caribe (el Convenio de Cartagena), se espera convocar la Primera Reunión del Comité Asesor Científico y Técnico al Protocolo relativo a la Contaminación Procedente de Fuentes y Actividades Terrestres en la Región del Gran Caribe (Protocolo FTCM) del 5 al 7 de junio del 2012 en Oranjestad, Aruba. Esta reunión es la primera reunión técnica de los expertos nacionales tras la entrada en vigor del Protocolo FTCM en agosto del 2010.

A l’invitation du secrétariat de la Convention pour la protection et la mise en valeur du milieu marin dans la région des Caraïbes (Convention de Cartagena), la première réunion du Comité consultatif, scientifique et technique (STAC) au Protocole relatif à la pollution due à des sources et activités terrestres dans la région des Caraïbes (Protocole LBS), se tiendra du 5 au 7 juin 2012 en Oranjestad, Aruba. Cette réunion sera la première réunion technique des experts nationales à la suite de l’entrer en vigueur du Protocole LBS en août 2010.

Delegates whose participation will be sponsored by the Secretariat need not make hotel or airline reservations; this will be done by the Secretariat. All other delegates and participants from CEP Member Governments, other UN organisations, and other governmental or non-governmental observers are expected to meet the full costs of their participation in the Meeting. To access the negotiated rates (USD144.50 + USD4.00 for porterage (two trips) and USD1.00 per day for housekeeping for single occupancy.
