At the invitation of the Secretariat of the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment of the Wider Caribbean Region (Cartagena Convention), the First Meeting of the Scientific, Technical and Advisory Committee (STAC) to the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-based Sources and Activities in the Wider Caribbean Region (LBS Protocol) is proposed to be held from 5th – 7th June, 2012 in Oranjestad, Aruba.   This is the first technical meeting of national experts following the entry into force of the LBS Protocol in August 2010.

A l’invitation du secrétariat de la Convention pour la protection et la mise en valeur du milieu marin dans la région des Caraïbes (Convention de Cartagena), la première réunion du Comité consultatif, scientifique et technique (STAC) au Protocole relatif à la pollution due à des sources et activités terrestres dans la région des Caraïbes (Protocole LBS), se tiendra du 5 au 7 juin 2012 en Oranjestad, Aruba. Delegates whose participation will be sponsored by the Secretariat need not make hotel or airline reservations; this will be done by the Secretariat.  All other delegates and participants from CEP Member Governments, other UN organisations, and other governmental or non-governmental observers are expected to meet the full costs of their participation in the Meeting.   Such additional delegates and observers are expected to make their own hotel arrangements and may find accommodation at the host hotel, the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino, Oranjestad, Aruba. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/auabr-renaissance-aruba-resort-and-casino
