Jump with Whales is produced by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), 411 Main Street, Yarmouthport, MA 02675 USA. This coloring book was designed for children as part of IFAW’s Caribbean Whale Education Programme. The Spanish and French versions are direct translation from the English text. Translations were provided by the United Nations Environment Programme, Kingston, Jamaica.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote marine mammal awareness and conservation throughout all the oceans of the world. IFAW has recently funded two education and public awareness programmes in the Lesser Antilles which include the production of the children’s newsletter "BLOWS!" about whales and dolphins, and two children’s activities books, Jump with Whales and Whales and Dolphins - Inside and Out.

The Caribbean Environment Programme (CEP) of UNEP was adopted in 1981 at the request of the Governments of the Wider Caribbean. The legal instrument of CEP is the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment in the Wider Caribbean Region (Cartagena Convention) and its Protocols.

The Protocol Concerning Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife (SPAW) was adopted in 1990 and includes the listing of relevant marine and coastal species requiring protection. The SPAW Regional Programme was designed to implement the provisions and requirements of the SPAW Protocol, which includes assistance in the management of protected areas, priority species, and coastal ecosystems.
