Are there any legally binding multilateral environmental agreements for the Wider Caribbean Region?


There is one legally binding agreement for the Wider Caribbean Region and it is the Convention for the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment (the Cartagena Convention) which entered into force on 11 October 1986. There are also three Protocols designed to address special isssues and initiate concrete actions. Visit our Cartagena Convention section to find out more.
